“When TETO came to the occupation with the proposal to build emergency homes in partnership with the families, it's as if a little light had been born at the very end of the tunnel. (...) The houses, for us, are not just houses, they represent hope, both for those who won and for the rest of the community.”

The CEPESP/FGV Center in partnership with TETO Brasil launched in 2021 the survey "Covid-19: difficulties and overcoming in the favelas".
The study complements the executive summary published (only in portuguese) in September 2020 and brings, as a novelty, an in-depth look at the impacts of the TETO Housing Program, especially in the face of the pandemic scenario.
Among the main results, the research points out that the feeling of loneliness of those who live in precarious favelas diminished with material solutions as basic as a wooden house.
There are many uncertainties and doubts about the consequences of the pandemic. However, it is essential that, as a society, we have the courage, sensitivity and agility to look at facts and data and, based on them, dream of a better Brazil.
We believe that this research serves as fuel for this dream and for future construction.
