There are favelas and favelas. How many of them do you know?

The Panorama of Favelas and Invisible Communities in the State of São Paulo is a study conducted by TETO Brasil, in partnership with Insper and Diagonal Social. It is based on primary data collected by TETO volunteers in nine communities across the state of São Paulo between 2019 and 2023.

The study paints a picture of the precarious conditions in these areas and the inequality caused by the absence of adequate public policies for these territories. It also shows the potentialities and strengths of the communities.

The research exposes the inhumane, inadequate, and invisible reality in which thousands of families live in our country. Its goal is to shed light on human rights violations and support the development of services or public policies to transform the mapped regions.
